What has been decided
The UAE has set out its e-invoicing rules in Ministerial Decisions 243 and 244 of 2025. As known in October 2026, a pilot runs from 1 July 2026. E-invoicing becomes mandatory from 1 January 2027 for businesses with revenue of AED 50 million or more, and from 1 July 2027 for all other businesses.
How invoices must be sent
The format is PINT AE, sent over the Peppol network through an accredited service provider. A PDF, or an invoice sent as an e-mail attachment, does not count as an e-invoice.
What to check now
- Which of the two dates applies to your business
- Whether your Business Central setup can produce PINT AE invoices
- Which accredited service provider you will use
- Who in your company owns the change
